        Harvesting Area (Game Kamatha)

This is a sacred area of the paddy field. This is a  small bare land is left out without cultivating .Its is used for extracting the seeds or harvest from the ripe paddy. When the paddy is ripe, all village farmers gather to this small are in an auspicious time to extract the harvest.


Black buffalo is the animal used by the villages to extract harvest from the ripe paddy. Couple of  buffalo  are tight to gather and made to walk in the harvesting field.  This buffalos are  guide by a boy or a villager to walk in a circular manner. When the buffalos walk tramples the paddy its extract the seeds from the paddy.

On large, mechanized farms, harvesting utilizes the most expensive and sophisticated farm machinery, like the combine harvesterHarvesting in general usage includes an immediate post-harvest handling, all of the actions taken immediately after removing the crop—cooling, sorting, cleaning, packing—up to the point of further on-farm processing, or shipping to the wholesale or consumer market.

Chief Farmer (Maha Goviya)


Chief Farmer (Maha Goviya) is always take the leadership among other farmers in the village. He is the most experienced former in the village who usually guides the villagers in cultivation and farming.
